Being a parent is one of the most rewarding things you’ll ever do — and one of the hardest. At Home-Start Newry & Mourne, we offer a range of programmes and workshops designed to give you practical skills, boost your confidence, and remind you that you’re not on your own.

Incredible Years

Incredible Years is an internationally recognised, evidence-based programme that helps strengthen your relationship with your child and gives you practical strategies for managing the everyday challenges of parenting.
We run both the Toddler programme (for parents of children aged 1-3) and the Baby programme (for parents of babies). Parents who take part consistently report real, positive changes in family life.
Evening Workshops
We know that daytime sessions don’t suit everyone. That’s why we run a programme of evening workshops for parents covering topics like:
- Self-care and looking after your own wellbeing
- Improving your mental health
- Recreational activities to help you unwind and have some fun

Mums Night In / Mums Cafe
Sometimes you just need a night that’s about you. Our Mums Night In events, and our Mums Cafes in Kilkeel, are a chance for mums to come together for a bit of craic, supper, and time away from the daily routine.
Good Food, Good Mood
Our food values sessions help families think about nutrition and healthy eating on a budget. Because when you eat well, you feel well too.
Step in Summer / Walk and Talk
These evening sessions in Burren and Kilkeel combine physical activity with mental health support in a relaxed, social setting. A walk, a chat, and some fresh air can make a real difference.

Parenting Advice in the Home
Through our home visiting service, we also provide one-to-one parenting advice and skills support in your own home — covering everything from routines and behaviour to baby massage, sleep training, and cooking. Whatever you need, we meet you where you are.

“She has helped me in so many ways. I’ve been able to take my children to the park and not be riddled with anxiety about the melt downs as I have another set of hands. She’s been a blessing.”
